Hello,
I am from Belgium
In the sond "Okie from Muskogee" by Merle Haggard it is say:
"A place where even squares can have a ball"
and
"And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all"

Can anyone explain the exact meaning of
"can have a ball"
"and white lighting"

I should also like to know the exact meaning of
"Walking the floor over you"
in the song fron Ernest Tubb

Thanks you
Raymond

Ball has a lot of meanings but in this case it's simply "can have a good
time".

"and white lighting"
White lightning is slang for home made whiskey, usually very strong - so
it's like white lightning in a jar.

This one means exactly what it says. The girl that he loves has left him
& he misses her so much that he can't sleep, so he's "walking the floor".
He's pacing back & forth, hoping that she'll return and it gives him
something to do since he can't sleep. In the end, he knows she's not
returning so he hopes that one day she'll feel lonesome like he does now
and she too will "walk the floor" and remember his love for her.
