Name the song and singer! :)
Speaking of which, I just stumbled upon this today and it got me
thinking. I think most people know that "I Will Always Love You" had a
chance to become a #1 song by three different artists, and there was
some kind of ridiculous crap about "He Stopped Loving Her Today" being
#1 two consecutive years, but I found a song today that was a "Top
Twenty" hit twice by the same singer, using two different versions and
it got me thinking that I don't know if it's ever been done before.
Has it ?

How often ?

P.S. - The second part of the question is even BETTER ! :) I'll give
it on my next post. :)

2) While listening to a VA LP, one of those with the laughter and MC
"added" to try to make it appear like a live concert, T. Tommy Cutrer
introduced this singer as "smoother than a pound of butter" . Who was
it and what was the song ?

As an aside, and I guess a hint, I was also listening to the
Dillards , and read somewhere that around the time of their "Roots And
Branches" LP, Elton John asked them if they'd open for him, (hopefully
not their flies) :) :) :) and their LP quickly became their biggest
seller EVER !!!! Although this probably pre-dated the Willie Nelson
"Outlaw" explosion, the MO is obviously identical, and the LP is just
as offensive !!!!!!! "Roots And Branches" is a travesty and a joke,
and without Doug Dillard, so were/are the Dillards !

3) Finally, one last one and I guess one more hint, since ol' M-M-Mel
Tillis is about to get his due or more correctly I guess we should say
his LONG overdue, :) according to the ol' stuttering boy, what is his
most requested song ?

All correct answers automatically qualify for an AARP membership ! :)
Incorrect answers qualify for a lifetime membership to this NG and for
some of you re-admission to your recently neglected 12 step
programs ! :) LOL !!!!!!!!!! :) Falling off the wagon is one thing,
but let's be honest. A couple of you guys need
SEATBELTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Ventures ("Walk, Don't Run"/"Walk, Don't Run '64")
Neil Sedaka ("Breaking Up is Hard to Do")
Elton John ("Candle in the Wind"/"Candle in the Wind 1997"; also
"Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," the second as a duet with George
Michael).

PSSSSSST IDGIT !!!! This is a classic country NG, and obviously all
questions pertain to country music. Try to keep up ! "

I so don't care about Elton Jean, Paula McCartney, Nelly Sedaka,
Liberace, Erica Carmen and all your other favorites. :) Thanks for
proving once again that you don't belong here. :) It must be a slow
day on the other boards, eh Bunky ? :)

You went on to say, " I so don't care about Elton Jean.........."

Let me get this straight asshole. You called me an IDGIT because I
mentioned Elton John in a reply to your post. You reminded me that the
mention of Elton John doesn't belong in this group. This was AFTER YOU
POSTED:

Seems to me that you were the first one to mention him. What's your
next move, find a mens room stall next to him and go in and start
tapping your foot.

You are one sick puppy!! You criticize people for mentioning a name
that you had previously mentioned.

It's the context in which it was used, goofball!
Even Ronnie Milsap could see that!

Not at all little Miss Whiny innocence. I called you IDGIT because
you've earned the name millions of times over during the last
decade. :)

Let's be honest, over the years, you've posted more useless chart
information about EVERY SINGLE GENRE EXCEPT COUNTRY MUSIC than all the
other posters COMBINED ! Maybe you didn't hear me, I said
COMBINED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do the math !

Take your Connie Francis and Paul Anka 45's to your local sock hop,
and please spare us the annoyance !

Hope that helps. :)
