I was listening to this song last night by Bobby Helms, and I was
surprised to see that it never charted, at least not Top 40.

Does anybody know if it was ever released as a single, and how it
did ? My book only shows Top 40 hits, and as I said it's not listed,
but I know they're a couple of 45 collectors and chart freaks that
visit this group.

Any info anyone ?

Thanks in advance.

Actually it was on Kapp, which interestingly is the one label you
didn't list. Not surprisingly I guess, it's a Mel Tillis song, who was
also recording for Kapp at the time.

Anyhow, I'd heard it before (possibly by Mel) and I just happened to
be listening to Helms, and thinking how quickly his career dried up. I
mean between "Fraulein", "Jingle Bell Rock" and "My Special Angel" he
had three career songs in about a year , and then the bottom kind of
fell out.

And I was listening thinking how important the song is, and too bad he
couldn't at least have had some decent hits to wind down his career
when BANG ! "Right Back In Your Arms Again" came on, and I
immediately jumped up and said don't tell me they didn't release this
as a single, and apparently THEY DIDN'T ! Pretty amazing.

Anyhow, I'm still wondering since it's a Mel Tillis song, if somebody
somewhere ever released it as a single, and how it did.

If not, please forward this to Alan Jackson and tell him to cut it
before someone else does, and hopefully he won't have to insult our
intelligence with another stink bomb like "Red On A Rose" .

If he doesn't, whoever does, and has a hit, remember where you heard
about it ! For a small fee I've got dozens more that nobody's ever
heard of, either ! : )

Thanks for refreshing my memory. I knew I'd heard it before , and I
just looked it up and like Helms version Johnny Bush's version ALSO
made my list of the "25,000 Greatest Country Music Songs Of All
Time" .

While I was looking at the list I quickly checked Mel Tillis and
surprisingly I didn't see it listed. Admittedly I was scanning it
rather quickly and didn't take the time to sort everything
alphabetically, but then again I suppose it's possible I missed it .

Anyhow, if Bush released it as the B side to Whiskey River, the
chances are pretty good nobody ever played his version and it never
charted. Having said that, Bush has a pretty good pedigree, so if he
released it, it just confirms what everyone already knows, : ) that is
that I AM THE KING , and if not God's gift to Country music, certainly
God's gift to Country music on the internet. : )

Anyhow, obviously B sides don't count , so does anyone know if it EVER
was released as an A side by anyone, and how it charted ?

If not, better cut it, thank me, and beg me for more, BEFORE Alan
Jackson does. : ) LOL !!!!!!!!!!!

P.S - Don't forget the money, honey . : )
LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
