What song am I trying to remember?

It's hard to describe accurately the song as I remember it - the
huffing puffing
sawing background all the way thru is definite. Hick country voice - a
song in
the vein of Millers Cave i.e. that sort of plain lyric not too
descriptive and
straight to the point with a twist in the tale. I think maybe like a
fastened up
version of Satisfied Mind with the chorus hook instead of ...satisfied
mind
more like .....down at the old saw mill.

I googled 'saw mill country song' and looked thru 14 pages of results
last night
with no luck - it must have been a very minor hit - after all
thousands of
records are released.

You said it, I didn't : ) If you can't even describe it, how in the
world would you expect me to know what you're talking about .

It's ALL about spelling. : ) ALWAYS remember to add the 2nd "O" .

I'm " G-O-O-D ' , not G-O-D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : )

I assumed you would know it's a song about a sawmill, working in a
sawmill.

Off the top of my head

"Sawmill" - Mel Tillis
"Lumberjack" - Willie Nelson
"Along Came Jones" - George Jones & Johnny Paycheck
"Grasping For Straws" - The Midwest Wanna-Be's

None of them fit your description. : ) .

Then none of them are the one I'm thinking of.
Thanks for using the top of your head.

Speaking of which, a while back, maybe a year or two you and a few
people were musing about what "Jackson" Johnny And June Carter were
singing about.

I sent a reply the other day, but unknownst to me, apparently because
the post was so old it didn't reply to the board, only to the original
poster.

Long story short, the other day while listening to a duet version, by
Jerry Lee and Linda Gail Lewis they answered your question, and sang
"JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI " !!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the "Killer" says it's Jackson, Mississippi , IT'S JACKSON,
MISSISSIPPI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BOW BEFORE MY GREATNESS MIKEY/DAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reason #4,713,904 why I'm your "KING" ! : )

How about "The Day the Sawmill Closed Down" by Dickie Lee from 1963?
