Greetings From Scott land . :)

While listening to some Country music today, I heard what I don't
believe I've ever heard before in a Country music song :
BAGPIPES !!!!!!!!

While I understand that one of the fruitcakes :) who recorded "Danny
Boy" may have thrown in a bagpipe or two, but because of the Scottish/
Irish connection, ala bluegrass, that doesn't count.

What I heard today was a country music "standard", and it was a big
hit for one of the biggest stars in Country Music history.

Anyone know ?

Can you think of any other bagpipe "sightings" on 'hit" Country music
recordings?

Can you think of any other ... Country music recordings?<
Speaking of Country music recordings, I was listening to Johnny Cash
and was reminded of two of my favorites by him that I'd bet a lot of
people have never heard. A couple of story songs from the same LP ,
"W.Lee O'Daniel (And The Lightcrust Doughboys)" and "The Night Hank
Williams Came To Town" .

Just proving that it still comes down to the song, I loved WLO when I
first heard it by Talley , and was pleasantly surprised when Cash
covered it something like 15 years later. I seem to remember reading
somebody originally did "The Night Porter Wagoner Came To Town" , and
Cash just changed it to Hank Williams.

Good stuff.

That's because money CAN buy happiness. Ask ANYONE who's ever lived in
poverty.

I just read a study where apparently the divorce rate is slowing down
for the first time in a long time, and has gone back to the rate of
about 20-25 years ago. This applies to almost ALL demographics, EXCEPT
the divorce rate among lower income couples.

Again, if this is news to you, you've never lived in a lower income
family.

Money is VERY important to your happiness, and until people understand
that, their attempts to attain happiness will continue to be futile.

" A poor boy's chances for a pretty girl's glances are sometimes very
few. " - Buck Owens

Forget the sometimes, you'll have a better chance trying to find a
needle in a hay stack !
