Tennessee Erinie Ford had two top ten country hits, "The Ballad of
Davy Crockett" and "Sixteen Tons."
"Sixteen Tons" spent 10 weeks in the number one position.
So this might qualify Ford as a country artist. Tennessee Erinie
released an album, "Civil War Songs."
On it was "Maryland, My Maryland."
Could we use this to complete the list?

Quite possibly. Tennessee Ernie certainly can be/is considered a
Country artist. Like Jimmie Davis, I guess he's as popular perhaps as
a Gospel Artist, but most Country singers of that generation did a bit
of Gospel too, just not as much naturally as Tennessee Ernie.

This is an ongoing list, so that nothing's etched in stone, so until
we come across a better or more Country song, "Maryland My Maryland"
certainly should be penciled in for Maryland.
